Is it true that Billy Corgan played all the instruments in the studio?
Someone told me that the truth is out; that he had played the guitar and bass on the albums and that Darcy and James were nothing but stooges for the stage.
Watch The Chris Isaak Hour interview with Billy Corgan. He explains (not flames, as you did by saying "stooges") that he had to do the guitar and bass because they couldn't play. It was all worked out with the producer, Butch Vig and was not Billy being a controlling SOB. It was Billy trying to make a great album - which he did. Disarm is one of the best albums ever made.
I've seen The Smashing Pumpkins. James later improved at playing but D'Arcy is still a very pretty girl but can't play for sh*t.
